Utlimate Arm
Tuesday, November 20, 2007
Just got home from two weeks of precision driving, car filming (can't tell which car). During this trip I had the great opportunity to work with a team from LA based Adventure Equipment, that used the Ultimate Arm (award winning gyrostabilized remote control crane) on some locations. What they do is mount the camera on a "robot arm", in its turn mounted on a car or similar, then through the arm's movements the possibilities for getting some really cool footage is greatly enhanced.

To mention some misc facts, Adventure Equipment have been supplying these kind of tools for productions like Die Hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard and Batman Begins, they are currently working on the productions Iron Man and Get Smart.

Check out some cool video clips in the Ultimate Arm reel at http://www.ultimatearm.com

Street Xtreme Magazine
Sunday, November 4, 2007
Hey people, in the current issue of the Street Xtreme Magazine there's a multi-page feature from the two day job I did setting up the chassis of the "It's Fun 3" Porsche 930 Turbo to prepare it for new records. Buy Street Xtreme (Swedish edition) to get the opportunity to read how to go about things when sorting out a high performance sports- or racecar - it's a small investment compared to shocks, springs, aero-kits, tyres! :)

Quick trip to LA
Thursday, November 1, 2007
This Saturday I did a quick trip to California Speedway to host a clinic for owners of rear- and mid-engine cars. Great feeling to be back on this track, although it was squeezed in on a veery tight schedule.

Also got to do some hotlaps in a 997 GT3 RS. This particular one was involuntarliy setup as a drift car this day, but that was great fun! Only went fast in 911's before, never really drifted one, way cool.

The ceramic brakes on the GT3 RS I am familiar with already, for instance did hotlaps in the 997 Turbo at Kinnekulle Ring in August. These brakes are absolutely awesome, but driving the GT3 RS I must say what I fell for was the things making it resemble to the racecars I´ve raced so many times; lighter weight, agile character and the high-revving engine.
Doing hot-laps in this grey 997 Turbo with steel brakes and then doing hot-laps back to back in the ceramic brakes-equipped black one (further ahead in this picture) was a true eye opener. If I was to choose, the two mandatory items in a new Porsche is the short-shift gear lever and ceramic brakes. Photo J. Christensen
