Just got home from two weeks of precision driving, car filming (can't tell which car). During this trip I had the great opportunity to work with a team from LA based Adventure Equipment, that used the Ultimate Arm (award winning gyrostabilized remote control crane) on some locations. What they do is mount the camera on a "robot arm", in its turn mounted on a car or similar, then through the arm's movements the possibilities for getting some really cool footage is greatly enhanced.
To mention some misc facts, Adventure Equipment have been supplying these kind of tools for productions like Die Hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard and Batman Begins, they are currently working on the productions Iron Man and Get Smart.
