Last week my good friend Danny McSmarte from California visited Gothenburg so of course I had to take him to the racetrack. I´ve been an instructor for 6 years for among others the Sports Car Club of Gothenburg racing school, so that´s where I took him. Enjoying the unfamiliar rainy weather he got really good at racing around the wet track, so now I think he´s ready for the next level, which would be a little faster car. I hope he will go autocrossing this summer back in San Diego - it´s great training in car control.
 I did not have to give any excuses for bringing Danny - he was fast and in charge of the car!
About the other folks in the class I have to say they did really well in those tough conditions. Not easy when you´ve never been at a track to go flat out when it´s wet wet wet, but almost everyone managed without skidding of the track and as always - it´s a lot more to learn from starting out in a slow, reliable car than a car that is too fast and gets the student "scared" all the time.
